April 2, 2023 I was going to title this “getting ready for bed,” but jumping on the bed is just par for the course.
April 3, 2023 Spring Break, the kids played their first links course at Skyway in the Hudson County. More importantly, they learned how to drive golf carts without rolling any and only minor mishaps. I had one par, two bogies, and one double bogie, better than when I was playing before kids! Yes we packed four bags of clubs and have become THAT family on vacation. Before this trip, we bought three Sunday golf bags, two head covers, a driver for Erin, a driver, a sand wedge and a putter for Curie, and a ton of golf balls for this trip. We had to rent a car just to fit the golf clubs. Oh, and a cute golf outfit for Curie too. We are going back today and everyone needs a new cute golf outfit, including me.
April 3, 2023 A Target run, lunch at Mcdonald’s to get food before golf, a dip in the pool, and dinner at Kura’s A pretty good day.
April 4, 2023 The Healthier eating takes a back seat to Suburban Diner benedicts, a Suburban Benedict and a Corned Beef Hash Benedict, then a Smores Waffle, and an Oreo Waffle with three orders of bacon for the kids.
April 4, 2023 Then back on the links! A more challenging day today, but a good tee shot on 9, and some traffic in ready golf putting. Oh, and the kids drove again. We lost a club and have to go back tomorrow.
April 4, 2023 Golf followed by golf, the Angry Birds kind. Here Curie reigned supreme with superlative putting though Erin won in the end. We played strict rules of hitting the ball where it lay hence Albert hunched under the structure and choked way down in the putter.
April 4, 2023 After mini-golf we played Blast 7D which is a mini-movie with guns.
April 5, 2023 Ice skating, was the one thing the kids wanted to do. The best part was the look on Curie’s face when Albert went to help a little boy skate – pride. And then later when he gave an older guy advice, Elia said, “You help grown-ups too!”

April 5, 2023 Erin had the kids while Albert took a call. But we did have a nice breakfast at Candleyck Diner and later at hibachi
April 6, 2023 We’ll get around to posting waterpark pictures later, but for now two “artistic” pictures from the day. The first is Elia on the lazy river and the second is Curie and I waiting for Erin and Elia to slide down the slide.

April 6, 2023 Burger King makes a better breakfast for us than Mcdonald’s because you can get a burger in the morning. Curie hates sesame seeds on a bun so she ordered two Whopper Jr.s and ate it with two bottom buns (BTW Google Big Mac 1970 to now to see how much theirs has shrunk, though McDonald’s fries are still better and the Burger King service was terrible). We went back to Jollibees met up with Gabe and his mother, went to Soup Dumpling Plus (there is not a Din Tai Fung here), and saw a rainbow.

April 8, 2023 We dropped off the car and ate at Pho Viet Flare, the first restaurant Curie went to at 5 days old.
April 8, 2023 Burke Lake Golf Center 9 holes! Instead of just tagging our balls we drew faces and left messages on them.
