I didn’t know you very well,
But we could talk and sit for a spell.
In my mind I can still hear you laughing,
I am so saddened to hear of your passing,
And the memories feel like an small empty shell
For all these years I honestly didn’t know,
Learning about it has been quite a blow.
Please know that at the very least
I hope your soul rests in peace
And that you are cherished in memories long ago.
My guilt is my own, this I can see,
Your life cut short and forever incomplete.
I know it doesn’t matter that I feel like this,
I feel your presence and, yes, you are missed,
In the end, I pray that your soul is set free.
