Sometimes the best we can be,
Is our sliver of humanity,
To open our hearts, and simply be a friend.
A word of care, a touch of kindness,
In a world, bare, and increasingly mindless,
All we can do is give ourselves in the end.
So even more than thoughts and prayer,
Open your heart, if you dare,
And tell someone, they are okay, and they are all right.
Assure them from their self-doubt,
Help those who feel wiped-out.
And in your actions, you will find the light.
