Embracing Age

April 9, 2021

I am less than I was and more than I am,
More questions unanswered than when I started.
Making an impact, well, this I understand,
The past obvious, the future uncharted.

And as I age, and enter my later years,
Making amends helps with guilt and regret.
Health begins to crumble but the mind stays clear,
Decisions made younger without circumspect.

It is not all bad, there are things I cherish,
Family, Friends, and things I will remember.
But then even memories start to perish,
Fall turns to winter and so comes December.

This to the youth some advice I have burning,
Keep love in your heart and never stop learning.
