Let the love of friends, and the love of family,
Transcend the need for face-to-face company.
After all, we are never really apart,
If we take time to be together in our hearts.
A smile for a hug, for those that we miss,
A laugh on a screen and a virtual blown kiss.
We yearn for touch, warmth, and presence,
Let’s turn to hope, to overcome the distance.
Life has been strange, and full of adversity,
We hope for change and hope so that mercifully,
We get past the pain, this storm that we weather,
To live once again, and allow us to be together.
A smile for a hug, for those that we miss,
Moments for memories to later reminisce.
We learn to touch with our souls and our essence,
Let us turn to hope, and accept this new existence.
So let us live in hope for this new year,
Let us embrace all love and bring on good cheer.
