Never a poet will I be 1993

(The Rachel Dream)

I dreamed of you late last night,
dreamed I was away from harm.
I touched my lips to your breast
and felt you tighten in my arms.

The sharp intake of your breath
and then the drawn out sigh
forever more I’ll remember this
remember ’till the day I die.

Standing close, I gave a gasp,
so faint, yet everlasting
And upon your touch we flew away
high upon gossamer wing

A window upon a wonderous world
looking out to eternity
You fade away to vaporous grey
leaving me alone in diaphany.
