Montreal Urban Hiking and Food Crawl 2018

Montreal Food Crawl. Not shown, the most expensive Roy Rogers at rest stops on the way up and back, the club lounge breakfasts and appetizers (including duck and smoked salmon), the museum cafe, some of the other food court purchases and other snacks. Otherwise, from upper left to right,1) Hakata Ramen – one of Albert’s favorites, 2) Nudo – and tossed noodles, and a bit of a disappointment, too doughy and too sweet, 3) Bento, Sushi, and Noodles – at the same food court as Nudo, but notable because it is Curie and Elia’s favorite ramen and a turning point for Curie on if udon or ramen is better (ramen now), 4) Qing Hua – soup dumplings that weren’t xiao long bao, a little weird, but okay, 5) Restaurant Pain Farci – terrible xiao long bao – really doughy, like they were frozen, definitely not Din tai fung, 6) Room service – needed after that bad xiao long bao 7) Patisserie Harmonie – we went twice and got a lot of cakes and mochi, the only picture of food was this moon cake, the store picture actually has the name and Elia next to Albert, 8) Tsukuyomi – the highlight of the trip, ramen closest to Japan, Erin’s favorite, 9) Pho 28 – decent pho in the suburbs of Montreal, 10) Sumo Ramen – would be the worst of the meals except for the one on the way back, even worse than Restaurant Pain Farci – gooey soup, Albert didn’t even finish, which says a lot! 11) Little Sheep Hot Pot – we have kind of lost count but we have been to 15 or so of these so far in the world, supposedly half of them according to Danny at our Falls Church branch, this was minutes after Sumo Ramen and another trip to the bakery AND it was all-you-can-eat and we had 7 plates of lamb! Sooo gooood. 12) Golden Buffet – our worst meal, Christmas Day, Mc Donald’s closed, random Chinese buffet that was open. Terrible. Really. Terrible. After this was another Roy Rogers experience. Is it any wonder we had to go to our local Little Sheep Hot Pot upon our return?
