Our Cars in Miniature

It is no doubt strange that Albert bought our cars, at least those we have had since we have had kids, in miniature. They made a yellow 2002 Beetle, and a yellow 2016 Fit, but did not make a purple 2010 Fit, so he bought a blue one and painted it.

When Elia saw the cars she said, “this is our old car, this is our new yellow car, this is our purple car. When the purple car is old, we can get a new one.” But what if they don’t make a purple car then? Oh she also said she wants a new old yellow car too.

Curie and Elia get a Package from Olivia and Sofia

Today we received a surprise package from Olivia and Sofia, in it was a Marie Curie (on the back) shirt that reads “Stay Curious” and Chewbaca, Darth Vader, and Yoda Itty Bitties. This is Curie in her new shirt (she is wearing it with a tutu – science and dance, right?). They wanted to say thank you (Elia got Darth Vader and Yoda), and we thought you might want to see Curie in the shirt. She wants to wear it to bed tonight.

Curie and Elia

The other day, Curie and Elia were playing mother and baby and while we were taking pictures I was struck by a similarity to a picture we have hanging in our house.

Girls in White Dresses

For the record, this was us at H&M and the girls pulled the dresses on over their clothes and ran around while we were there, we didn’t buy them. The lighting is the store lighting which turned out remarkably well.

Huntley Meadows 2017

We have been waiting until the girls were old enough to walk the boardwalk without worrying that they might fall in. They loved the walk, especially the look-out observation tower which they used as a castle. We saw a lot of animals, more than normal, even baby beavers though those pictures didn’t really come out.

We saw a number of different reptiles. Here are a lizard and three snakes.

Amphibians, three kinds of frogs and three kinds of turtles if you look carefully you can see the turtle’s whole head.

And insects, we don’t have a picture of the dragonfly and butterfly, but we saw a lot. The spider is in front of our house.

Birds, we didn’t get a great picture of the ducks.

Crawfish, Boating, Bowling, Friends, and More…

The crawfish were very active, it was like Candace said, it was like “the claw” in Toy Story, every time you came up to them, all of them would raise their claws.

The girls loved it, Elia said “I crawfisher-Belle.” Both of them took their job very seriously fishing out every live crawfish and putting them in pots. They took out ten dead ones, without a flinch.

In the sink to be washed, sorted and ready to cook, cooking, and done.

Sunday we went to Burke Lake after finding out we missed the Tulip Festival this year. You can only have three people in a boat so we took out two and took the ones with motors. Very relaxing, blowing bubbles, having a snack on the water and generally having a good time.

You would think boating was enough but the kids wanted to go “balling,” luckily Nahal and Navi are game for anything.

Misc-more… we had dinner with Isabella and her family on Friday at Chuy’s, saw Bella’s play Get Smart at her middle school, had play dates, made popsicles, saw the Tamanahas, drew pictures (yes, we are drawing My Little Pony with little colored pencils for the girls), and had dinner at A&J’s with Navi and Nahal.

Curie Sparring in Her White Belt with Stripe Test

“Sweep the leg!!!!!” “Crane-kick… no one can defense!”

Curie sparring at her “white-belt-with-stripe-test.” Julie has video that perhaps she would upload. Curie is the youngest and littlest member of EMA in Springfield. Her sparring pads are so big she can’t bend her arms, and those are the smallest size.
