I wish I could have written more today,
But the work just kept coming at me
It was fun reading what you all had to say,
The creative joy was great to see
I didn’t have time to write this morning
I didn’t get to write poetry at lunch
I’ll take it as a personal work-life warning
And I’ll try to get better each month
So thank you for your contributions
Thank you for bringing smiles to my face
You are helping me with my resolution
I’ll try to write and share more in this space.
And look! I seem to have written a poem
And look, I feel better about the week
To work, I need a slant rhyme like “own”
